The department of Mechanical Engineering was established in the year 1998 & the current intake is 120 students. The department fulfils the mission and vision of the institution in imparting quality education to the students, to become globally competent. The P.G. Course Thermal Eng and Industrial safety & Eng were established in the year 2009 & 2012 with an intake of 18 students. The department has been accredited by NBA-AICTE. Objectives Modern multimedia teaching technologies, Computer aided learning packages are available for self-learning. Students are exposed to the recent technologies in industries through gust lectures and panel discussions by eminent personalities from reputable institutions and industries. Industrial visits are arranged for students to gain practical exposure. In addition to the regular academic activities students are encouraged to take up research in multi-disciplinary areas of Mechanical Engineering. Various equipment like Data Acquisition system, Steam turbine test rig, Profile projector, Pneumatic trainer kit are used to promote R&D activities. Consultancy work from various ancillary industries is met over by CNC machining Centre.
With the advent of Nanotechnology, Acoustical Engineering and Additive Technology, the scope of Mechanical Engineering has expanded rapidly. There are limitless opportunities for the freshly minted Mechanical Engineers, whether they want to be employed or become an entrepreneur or pursue higher studies.
